Q-Tips and cottonballs – you should already have at home

Dr Scholl's sells small bags of lambs wool for foot care - a small plug placed in each ear works a LOT better than cotton balls at keeping water out during bathing

Slicker brush – soft or puppy style, not too stiff

Medium comb – greyhound type comb

Ear hair powder – Biogroom brand is best

Ear cleaner liquid – K-( Liquid Health gentian violet formula and also get a non-alcohol based cleaner for days when you pluck ear hair

Nail trimmers – Hartz makes an orange handled pair found in supermarkets - the end is slanted, which gives good visibility

Total Cost approximately:    $450 - $500…. About 10 grooming visits to a professional groomer at $45/visit not counting tip….  Estimate your dog  gets groomed 6x/year minimum, pays for itself in under 2 years… and if he lives to be 15years old, you will have saved $3600!!!! (At some point in 15 years you’ll need new blades, etc – but I think you get the idea.) And if you get good – maybe you can groom someone else’s dog for them, and actually recoup your equipment expenses over time!
