Magic and Piper's litter three weeks old - pups weigh around 2 lbs, hearing, eyes open and starting to be weaned

At four weeks old, pups are between 2.6 and 3.1 lbs. Can you guess who's been eating the puppy mush really well!? They've started playing with each other, and investigating toys. Teething is also beginning. Mama Magic won't want to let them nurse once those teeth start breaking through, and they'll start chewing on everything and anything.... Today they moved from the whelping box to the kitchen for the daytime. In the evenings/night they'll go back to the box for sleeping.

At 5 weeks old, pups got their first hair cut. They look absolutely adorable.

Six weeks old, getting more independent every day. They have the run of the large eat-in kitchen, and I have even brought them outside onto the deck with the advent of a few warmer days. They like playing with a leaf, and chewing snow (feels good because they're teething). Magic has started to play with them - early lessons in pack behavior that they need to relate properly to other dogs. If anyone gets too pushy, mom gives them a little of their own right back. Today she laid down and let them climb all over her, chew on her ear.... it was a heart warming picture... and of course we had one more precocious than the others....

At eight weeks old they run around, squeeze through the baby gates to explore, climb onto their play-box, and love human attention. They've learned the sound for treats, get quiet when they hear me fixing their breakfast, and are very vocal about wanting to get OUT and run around the kitchen and the deck.
