Ashcroft is the home of champion and companion Bedlington Terriers since 2000. I have owned and competed with pure bred dogs since 1982. I had several champion and obedience titled Borzoi between 1982 and 1999. When I had to change to a smaller breed, the Bedlington Terrier was my choice. I have applied all my acquired knowledge and experience to purchasing and breeding top quality competitors and healthy companions. I am a member in good standing of the Bedlington Terrier Club of America, was awarded the BTCA Breeder of Distinction award. I am also a member of Bryn Mawr Kennel Club and an AKC Breeder Of Merit. In 2014 I added a sighthound back into the pack when Silken Windhound UKC CH Allagante Super Nova joined the family.

My first two Bedlingtons both finished their AKC championships before they were 11 months old, and both were ranked in the top 20 in the breed the first year they were shown. These were Ch Jewelbox Diamond Jim CGC (Brady) and Ch Wrightwyn's Puttin On The Ritz CGC (Cocoa).

Cocoa's first litter was born in October 2002. Four of those youngsters from her litter have finished their championships. Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sonora finished with 3 majors, and a Terrier Group 1 to her credit. Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Santana was Winner's Dog at the BTCA National Specialty for his second major and finished quite handily after that. Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sonoma finished with four majors, including a 5 point major, in three weekends. Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sierra was RWB at the National and finished her championship after taking time off for her first litter for owner Nancy McLaren. Sierra recently came home to me at age 13 to live out her remaining years after Nancy's passing.

In 2004, a high point was winning Best Brace In Show at the prestigious Montgomery County Kennel Club all-terrier show. The award went to Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sonora and Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sonoma.

Our foundation bitch Ch Wrightwyn's Puttin On The Ritz won the Brood Bitch class at the 2005 National Specialty where Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Sonora won an AOM and Ashcroft Varekai was WB/BOW. Ch Ashcroft Varekai finished her championship shortly after that. Her brother Ashcroft Quidam has his Rally Novice title and two legs toward his Rally Advanced.

From the third litter (Hart litter) three dogs have finished their championships. Ch Ashcroft Hart to Heart was BOS in Sweepstakes at the 2006 National, Ch Ashcroft Tug At Your Hart was RWD at the 2006 National and picked up a 4 point major that same weekend. Another sister, Ch Ashcroft Hart Of A Lady took many of her points handled by her owners. All three finished in early 2007 making Roxy eligible for a BTCA Annual Brood Bitch award.

Also in 2007, Ch Ashcroft Jersey Boy finished - Fudge is from a repeat of my first breeding. Fudgie's first offspring were produced here in 2012. Brother Ch Ashcroft Gents Prefer Blondes also finished in 2007. Littermate Ch Ashcroft Ain't Miss Behavin' finished a little later.

The influence from Ch Boardwalk Ticket To The Moon (a Brady son) is showing in his son Ch Ashcroft Magic Me At Lambs End, who finished in just 2 long weekends, and his daughter Ch Ashcroft Do U Believe In Magic JE, CA, RATO, a favorite here at Ashcroft. These dogs go back to BIS/BISS Ch Silvery Moon Unforgrettable through Ticket.

In March 2008 Ch Ashcroft Do U Believe In Magic JE CA RATO was awarded the BTCA Top Breeder-Owner Handled BOS Bedlington award. Magic competed at Portland Oregon's Rose City Classic and went to Sweden for The 2008 World Show as well. Late 2008 saw her having puppies by Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Santana. GCh Boardwalk's Bling Bling is a Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Santana daughter, and her puppies by GCHB Kaylynn's Party Crasher are being shown in 2012. GCh LAMZ Heads I Win, Tails You Lose is another Ch Ashcroft Sangeo Santana get with offspring out in the conformation ring. Mimi became Ch Ashcroft Ain't Miss Behavin', to make her dam Cocoa an all-time top producer with eight champion get.

In 2014 Ch Ashcroft Wedding Singer went to live at Kennel Notice in Sweden. Less than 2 months later, with new owner Ninna Odehag, Singer went BOB at the World Dog Show in Finland, also making the final cut of eight in the Terrier Group. His first two litters are on the ground in Sweden and puppies have been exported to Ireland, Australia, Switzerland, Finland and Poland to name a few.

UKC Ch, AKC GCh Ashcroft Mystic Red Sky At Night, Lily, has multiple UKC Best In Shows, as well as two AKC Group 1's and a group 4, following in the paws of her dam and granddam. Lily was awarded BOS at the 2014 Montgomery County KC all terrier show, and has a recent NOHS Best In Show and  Reserve BIS to her credit.

November 2016
